Escape from the city to the tranquillity of the ancient Magaliesberg.The Mountain Lodge is only 70 kilometers from Johannesburg , Pretoria and Rustenburg on the Southern slopes of the Magaliesberg.
Once you have parked your car you do not have to drive anywhere else to experience the wonders of the Magaliesberg.

Shelter Rock is within the Hartebeestfontein Conservancy and the Magaliesberg Natural Protected Area. At Shelter Rock you can take the Mountain Trail to the top of the Magaliesberg or climb the stepladder (Via Ferrata) against the cliff face to enjoy the endless views from the summit and then return down the cliff face via our 100 meter double pitch abseil.

After an exciting day on the mountain, chill, with an ice cold beer in our boma, watch the sunset, listen to the call of a jackal, enjoy dinner under the stars and end the evening around a campfire.

Shelter Rock - Bachelors Party  
Shelter Rock is the ideal venue for your once in a lifetime bachelor party.
Our party package includes:
Breakfast on arrival followed by a climb of the only via ferrata (iron way) in South Africa to the top of the Magaliesberg. After refreshments drop down the Magaliesberg cliff face on the most exciting 100 meter double pitch abseil in Gauteng, Mapumalanga and North West Province
Relax in our boere jacuzzi, enjoy the sunset with unlimited local drinks until 24h00 and a 3 meat or a 500 gram t-bone braai in the boma.
Chill around the camp-fire till late
Crawl into your bed and wake up for a hearty breakfast before departure.

 

Shelter Rock – Fathers Day  
Recharge Dad's batteries on Sunday 20 June 2010 with a leisurely hike in the tranquillity of the magnificent Magaliesberg.

Pack a picnic basket with his favourite treats to enjoy at a tranquil spot amongst the trees or on the escarpment where he can saviour panoramic views of the Hartebeestpoort dam and the bush veld to the north of the Magaliesberg.

On your return from the mountain treat him to a delicious melktert or koeksister in our Wag ‘n Bietjie Tea Garden.
