Hunters Rest is a picturesque country resort beautifully situated in the Magaliesberg Mountains just 1½ hour from Johannesburg or Pretoria. It is reputed for it's fine table, good service and excellent recreational facilities.

There are 91 well–appointed bedrooms set in lush subtropical gardens. All have private bathroom, telephone, radio, DSTV, air conditioning, coffee makers, etc. The recreational facilities include a testing 9 hole golf course, putt putt, a bowling green, 4 tennis courts, volleyball, a squash court, a large heated swimming pool and a heated kiddies pool. There is a gymnasium, saunas and steam rooms and a games room for all ages. There are also interesting hiking trails up the mountain to the old Anglo-Boer war forts, as well as an admirable bird life for nature-lovers.

Children are also well-catered for with a children's farmyard, pony rides, swings, their own diningroom and a supervised crèche over weekends. The room maids offer a baby–sitting service at night. The evening meals in the diningroom are served in a romantic candle-lit atmosphere whilst the Saturday lunch is a relaxing poolside braai and the lunch on Sunday a lavish buffet-style smorgasbord. A light sandwich menu operates throughout the day.
